something to consider, a long shot here. On my '50 passenger side lower hinge, the factory welded "nuts", where the hinge bolt goes thru, was completely rusted out. Hard to see with the inner to outer cowl piece in the way. Had to reweld a new set of nut plates to the backside, will find out how accurate it is, when I rehang the doors this winter, about 5 yrs later. Try grabbing the lower hinge, and see if there's any movement in it, while it is bolted down. By looking at the pictures, I would suspect rust out, in the lower cowl area, Lotsa moisture down in FLA.
