I have been tinkering here and there on the federal and have it back into decent shape though I need to redo some of my hackjob wiring and lap the valves, seats and replace the manifold and head gaskets. But thats not what this thread is about. I just got my hands on my first stovebolt truck, and it just so happens to be a Big Bolt, my favorite type of truck. I saw it in craigslist a few weeks ago and kinda glanced over it, figuring that when I had money it would be gone. Well, low and behold there it still was. So I called the guy up and arranged to pick it up. Granted it is very rough, the engine is locked up and the floor is pretty much nonexistent but I figure I did halfway decent at 300 bucks when it came with an entire set of 8.25 by 20 tires to replace the ones that are on it. The hood leaves alot to be desired but I can also fix that. The grill however is perfect. I do have a question though, are GMC fenders and Chevy fenders the same?

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Is that a Hercules engine in there? On your GMC, is the grille supported in the center with one bracket or 2 brackets, one on each side?
