From what I can tell it's probably a 5-40, 5-44, or 6-40 machine screw and 3/4" long. None of these are readily available at your local Home Depot. I did try one fastener shop yesterday and a royal A-hole that was in no mood to help find screws for an 80 year old truck was working the front desk. Could be a 6 which is only .138 Dia. Just buy one of them all and see what fits, they are pretty cheap. Small and long is also hard to find. Fine is sometimes difficult to find locally.
Unless someone wants to unscrew their 80 year old screw and measure. Engineers try to use the same size for lots of things to save money. Might there be another interior part that uses that screw so you can size it? What head configuration do you think it is? I think these are called fillister head machine screws, like the ones holding on the inside handles.
