Can you install a T5 on a 1937 GMC 1/2 ton? All the examples I have seen are on later trucks.

Thanks.

239, 259 previously Buick, etc., some were flathead Pontiac or Olds. I have 2 bbl. carb adapter for Olds.

All one needs is clutch disc to match splines on T-5;

Bolt trans to bellhousing, if input shaft and retainer are correct length, make matching bolt holes in trans or in bellhousing, or both, preferably in bellhousing since Al trans, otherwise, appropriate adapter plate of correct thickness for input shaft and retainer. Use GMC clutch.

I presume not torque tube driveshaft. Make new driveshaft.

The truck has a 230 olds flathead motor.

What rear end should I go with. Posts I have seen have said to use a s-10 4x4 rear because it is wider.

That is true, are your wheels 6 on 5.5? Or?
