Can I put a 1938 pressure plate in a 1937 1/2 ton? My 37 has a coil spring pressure plate (10" diameter). The 38 is diaphragm with a 9" clutch plate. Do I need to change the clutch plate? The 37 is a 10" plate. The 38 is a 9" plate. Both fit on the flywheel plate fine. The coil spring pressure plate does not engage smoothly.

Unless you are planning on changing to a 1938 bellhousing, clutch fork, throwout bearing, flywheel, pressure plate and disc, you will find this a no go.
