| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 51 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 51 | I took my rear apart about 2 months ago and now im try to remember how to put it back together. I just want to make sure im doing this right. First goes the bearing all the way until its seated on the lip in the tube, then the washer and then the seal. Tell me if Im wrong. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 | Thrust washer first, bearing next, and seal last. Assuming you are working with an AD truck. Figure 7: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1948_51truck/51ctsm0404.htmThat is for 48 to 51 1/2 ton. For 54 the same picture and figure number so that covers most.
