I need to design clutch linkage for my 50 AD. I'm using a SBC (shorty headers) w/Saginaw 4 spd and bolt on(new style) master cylinder w/stock brake and clutch pedal linkage. There isnt alot of room around the stock linkage area, but I don't want to re-invent the wheel and Im sure someone has done this successfully.
Your info is greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Bill

On my AD with SBC and Block huggers, I went with a hydraulic clutch with a firewall mounted master and an external slave. I'm a stick shift diehard, but I wanted it to be a little easier on my aging leg. We first tried the stock pedal using a frame mounted master, but the dimensions (pedal travel above converted to horizontal movement below at the frame)would not work. I wanted to use the stock pedal for the look, so the only downside is I had to use a Wilwood firewall mounted pedal.

For a manual clutch with the stock pedal, if you took our first attempt, which was to weld a vertical tab onto the bottom of the existing clutch linkage (which then attached to a horizontal MC), you would then have rearward, horizontal movement. Not enough to operate a master cylinder, but maybe enough to disengage a manual clutch?
