I completely rewired my '41 half ton with a harness from Rhode Island Electric. Everything went well with the exception of the gas guage. I've gone through the usual tests. I've got power to the guage, ohm reading across the guage terminals. Sending unit tests OK.

What am I missing?

What is it doing that it shouldn't or not doing that it should? Is it reading full all the time? Is it reading empty all the time? More info for us helps us to help you.

Reads empty no matter what I do. No movement of any kind.

6V, I presume. Sounds like it could be the connection between the sending unit and the gauge, since everything else is checking out. You could run a wire and see.
