on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 3,399 Gas Pumper | | Gas Pumper Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 3,399 | The Advance Design series has a Defroster or Fresh Air Cable going to the left side of the steering column. I know exactly where it goes, even have the bracket in front of me. What I do not have is a defroster cable.
Can someone tell me why there is this large rubber insert in the dash bracket? Any other cable would just be nutted directly to a 1/4" hole. Thanks again! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 3,399 Gas Pumper | | Gas Pumper Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 3,399 | The one on the left is drilled and tabbed properly for the parking brake. The one with the big rubber piece on it is drilled for the defrost cable (quite a bit of difference in the mounting holes). I did nothing to the holes, they are original. I assume that smaller parking brake bracket will have a rubber piece mounted in front of it like the 53 has (very small rubber washer). My project for this purpose is 1950. http://devestechnet.com/Images/ParkingBracketDefrostBracket.JPGCould it be that the rubber one is for the "Warmer" bracket? I can see that making more sense. Then I am missing the proper defrost cable bracket. The holes are not the same between parking brake and defrost on the dash. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | | | | | | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 3,399 Gas Pumper | | Gas Pumper Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 3,399 | That explains it!
