I am working on a 46 burb and need to replace some of the wood framing that is between the outer skin and interior panels. Can any one tell me what type of wood would be correct to make some replacements. We are needing to replace the pieces under the belt line, the rubber strips that keep the window from rattling are stapled to them. Thank you in advance, Richard

I have seen oak, ash and gum used on my 41 truck. I have seen a war time list that had several other species that could be used. Pre-all steel body construction Chevy skeletons were mostly ash.

If you wanted to match the original, I could most likely identify a decent recent cross cut section photo.
