The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Panels 'N Burbs Pane Truck ID Help?

I recently purchased a chevy panel truck. I believe it is a 1946. Can any one help with the ID of it.I have attached photos of it below. I also got a pair of new old stock back fenders with it but the bolting flange is shaped different, do you know what body style they fit.

Run a pencil or piece of chalk over the code at the lower left of the ID plate.

See if you can read that code.

Rear fenders on a '41 thru first series '47 for a panel or suburban are different than on a same year pickup

Your vendor may have thought fenders were for a panel

Here is a reproduction plate. Maybe someone knows if this is a good reproduction? The box for the "CHASSIS NUMBER" is most likely smaller than the original box.

This says the plate in under the hood - right side of cowl. Maybe someone will post photos of a 1946 truck plate, and where it is installed/found?

Thanks for the photo/ad for a repo plate, that helps me know where to focus my attention. I did a pencil tracing today and got a little more detail.
It looks like 58 then a K or a R, then 11 in big numbers followed by 4285 in small numbers.
Is this enough digits ?
