I have been trying to find bendix rear brakes for my 1946 8 lug truck for a while with no luck. I have noticed that there are 1955 chevrolet 8 lug disk brake conversion kits out. I know that 1955-1959 chevrolet drum brakes are a direct swap for 1946-54 chevrolet 8 lug trucks. But would one of these 8 lug front disk brake conversion kits work for a 1946 chevrolet truck?

This is the kit I'm talking about he is using all Napa parts except for the caliper brackets. There is a part number on the side of them but it's kind hard to make out it looks like AC802 or AC902?

One can make their own by using Eldorado calipers w/ cable park brake, modern discs to fit those calipers, make your own caliper mounts.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
