A Passenger 235 would be blue, and the Truck version would blue/gray.

What is the code that is pressed into the block just behind the distributor?
That is the Engine Serial Number and it might help to ID the engine (car or truck, and model/series of vehicle).
How did you ID the year - 1962?
Depending on the year, the truck high-pressure 235 might have been gray, blue gray, or even green (supposedly). | | | | | Joined: May 2012 Posts: 574 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2012 Posts: 574 | the numbers stamped behind the dizzy are F0922J (I believe it is a zero, but could be an O in the number) and how I came to the conclusion that is a 62 235 is there are no captain's bars above the starter to indicate a 261 and the front mount is under the crank pulley/balancer and there are no side mounts cast into the block.
