The Aldersons will be hosting a BBQ on Thursday evening next year and several in the group want to meet up and tour the
Arabia Steamboat Museum Thursday afternoon at the KC riverfront.
http://1856.com/Friday afternoon will be setting up the Stovebolt HQ at the park, with the cruise in and band starting about 6pm. The hosting club really treat us great and we get a prime location.
After the cruise/band, we usually meet back at the hotel, break out the coolers and really get to know everyone.
It's not all guys and not all about trucks and cars.
Saturday, back to the park in the morning get out the lawn chairs and start the "how to" clinics put on by StoveBolters.
This past fall we had micrometer reading and use, a short talk about anvils, how to double flair tubing and Deve spoke about his HEI system for StoveBolts. Deve also said he hopes to have an engine on a trailer this next year, to start and play with.
Hopefully the clinics will be done about 1pm and that will then give folks time to check out the show. Usually 200+ trucks.
About 4pm, gather back at HQ for a group photo and the StoveBolt meeting including some good KC BBQ.
Then back to the hotel and if we are not too tired, gather around the coolers again and kick back.
Sunday is pretty quiet back at the park, awards are given out about 3pm and some of us don't stay that long and start the drive back home.
