Not an expert, but I have set many rear axle gear sets in my 30 plus years as a mechanic. The pattern is a little hard to see, but it looks a little shallow to me. You got a good start, but need more detailed photos. Did you use a micrometer when you set it up? Did you check the backlash with a feeler gauge? Do you have the Chevrolet truck shop manual? All the specifications are in that manual.

Another possibility is a tube of artist's white oil paint pigment and a few drops of linseed oil. Hold a rag wrapped tightly around the pinion flange to provide a little resistance while someone else moves the ring gear back and forth rapidly with a box end wrench on one of the attaching bolts. You'll get a much better representation of the actual contact pattern that way.

It was about 2/3 full, but the lead carbonate paste had dried up into a solid chunk. By grinding the stuff into powder with a mortar and pestle and adding linseed oil, it goes back to the creamy paste it needs to be for checking gear patterns and also for lubricating the taper center on my lathe. Given the amount of white lead paste required for either one of these operations, I should have a lifetime supply and then some!
