I managed to find a 5 lb. can of Dutch Boy white lead pigment on Ebay. It was about 2/3 full, but the lead carbonate paste had dried up into a solid chunk. By grinding the stuff into powder with a mortar and pestle and adding linseed oil, it goes back to the creamy paste it needs to be for checking gear patterns and also for lubricating the taper center on my lathe. Given the amount of white lead paste required for either one of these operations, I should have a lifetime supply and then some!
