I am currently working on a 1951 1/2 ton. I thought I read somewhere that it originally had a silver dashboard (I scraped off some paint, there is silver paint underneath), and I have been told two colors for the interior, one source told me it was a maroon color, another told me the inside was painted 'Champagne' from 1947 to 1953

I am in the process of doing my cab interior now, and purchased some of chevy duty's interior cab paint, and I find it a lot darker than I expected "champagne" to be. But I think that 50+ years of sun has bleached any original cab paint I have seen, making the paint appear a lot lighter. Cab interiors were not maroon, but the upholstery was maroon, along with the cardboard door panels. Maybe that is what they were talking about when they said maroon. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 203 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 203 | Brian just finished painting mine in "champagne" and yer right it is a lot darker than I expected.
