although this seems to be a well covered topic , i however have not been able to find any spot to connect the out put of my filter to the engine block, i have already checked by the distributor and on the front of the block however there is no plug in which i can run the oil, any suggestions?

gmc228,

On my GMC 228 the bottom oil filter line connects to the passenger side of the block. The top oil filter line is routed across the front of the block and connects to a fitting on the driver's side of the block.

Check out these photos .

Edit: Here's a link from oldgmctrucks.com that may help too.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Good luck,

If your 228 does not have the tapped hole in the block as shown in the pics, it could have come with a hollow bolt on the fuel pump that has a pipe fitting on it.
