| | | | Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 21 Member | | Member Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 21 | I've been having some problems getting my conventional spray gun to spray right, and getting the paint thinned right, so I've been practicing on painting my frames and stuff. Generally the paint seems too thick and just sputters out the gun, and the finish is rough... Been following the manufacturers recommendations on thinning, but was wondering if there was a general paint consistency you look for in the cup, like milk. Or is this just something you get a feel for with lots of practice. Thanks for your help...Tom. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,745 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,745 | I am really not one to give advice but I believe to make air quality regulations on their guns the manufacturers are telling you to use too low an air pressure. Up your pressure. Not good for emissions but much better for atomizing your paints.
