hi.

looking for advice on how to remove the grille - specifically, the bottom bolts.

I am trying to remove the grill for sanding and painting.

I removed the top cross member (right name for it?) that has the latch for the hood.

I was then able to remove the top 6 bolts that hold the top of the grille in place.

so far, so good.

but, there appears to be 4 bolts coming up into the bottom of the grille, and I see no way to get a wrench of any kind on those bolts.

anyone figured out how to get to them?

Thanks in advance

Lemme check my notes & pictures...

Ok, is the radiator support & radiator still installed?

It looks like the grill has six (6) attachment points top & six attachment points on bottom. The outermost are welded nuts; two on top two on bottom. The lower grill assembly "valance" (horizontal under the grill) is attached on the outside to the left & right fenders.

I removed the lower grill "valance" attaching bolts & pulled it & the grill out together. The pictures I have won't help you.

Good documentation to keep- thanks for posting it.

Go ahead & write down what size & thread capscrews/bolts came out of each hole, maybe Ziploc store them. Even though it's documented many places, I found it was easier to do this when the parts were fresh in my mind.

Brad
