Does anyone have ideas about how to prevent the edge of the carpet from unraveling without sewing an edge binding to it? Also, I am thinking of attaching the carpeting behind the seat with the use of Velcro instead of screws and finish washers. Has anyone had success with this approach?

It looks like a good solution, especially with the plain style of binding. I really appreciate your feedback.
