Question, I'm considering getting a Muncie m22 for my 54 Chevy truck. What issues am I going to have? Will the shifter location be to far back?

I have a Muncie in my '55 2nd. I use the curved 18in Hurst shifter, with a 4in extension. The shifter comes thru the floor a couple inches in front of the seat. The adapter plate for the Hurst shifter can be altered by elongating mounting holes or redrilling, allowing the shifter to be rotated foreward or back as needed. The stick shown in my photobucket pics came in the truck when I bought it and I have since replaced it with the 18in and extension, and it works good. When in 2nd and 4th the knob is just right, at the front of the seat, if its too far back, and your elbow will bang into the seat back.
