We are repainting our '42 1/2 ton and it is currently dark green with black fenders. Our paint guy says that 42-45 trucks (Blackout models) came with body color fenders from the factory and that black fenders may have been a dealer option. Does anybody know if this is true?

Light: I think he is probably right. Most of the trucks built from 42-45 were for thr military which would have been one color. Personally I think that these trucks are perfect for a two tone paint job. They just look better that way IMHO. My 46 is going to the paint shop soon and you can bet it will be two tone. Either way would be correct if you are going for an original resto. Do what looks the best to you.

Good Luck
George
