Pulls out one to two inches and stops as if there is a snap ring holding it. Moves freely forward and back for the two inchs, but won't come out all the way. Any thoughts or advice feedback appreciated

I guessing you have removed the driveshaft/torque tube and all mounts. Make sure the transmission in in neutral and shake it up and down and side to side and it should come out. Is the input shaft rusted? You may need to spray it with PB Blaster or Kroil and let it sit for a couple of hours. The input shaft splines may be hanging up on the clutch splines.
Hope this helps.

Tim

Do you have an inspection plate on the right side of the bell housing? Maybe you could have a look in there. I wonder if something weird is happening like the front shaft in the transmission is coming out or something.

All set. Used four fully threaded bolts to drive the trans back with even pressure. Shaft was rusted just enough to stick tight, but pb blaster came to the rescue.
