The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop how do these heaters work?

ive been in the dark long enough.i know i have the standerd heater.just need to know what hooks up to what,and how the heating process comes together.thanks for any help.

thanks for the pic kook helped out alot,but i still dont know how this heater hooks up.i was in the bed of the truck when i got it.what exactly hooks up to what?thanks for the help so far.

There should be one wire coming from the motor that is attached to a screw on the housing. That's your ground. There should be a second wire that goes from the motor over to the blower switch, running up behind the dash. That's it for the electrical. The housing mounts to the side of the cab with three screws in the front and three in the back. There's two studs welded to a couple of "L"-shaped pieces of metal that go through the firewall, and there's nuts on the end of them inside the engine compartment. There's two flexible hoses that come off the end of the housing and go to the two defroster vents. And there's a cable that goes from the heater control on the dash over to the "flapper valve" on the heater housing. That valve opens and closes a flap that determines whether air goes to the defroster vents or to the floor or a combination of the two.
