Hi. I'm starting a build on a 49 Chevy truck. I am using the rear end from a 2000 S 10 4x4 .My question is how can i keep my wheels looking stock. I want to keep the narrow tire look and also keep the ride height . I have seen no replica rims with the five bolt pattern. I would also like to keep the stock hub caps. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Why not stick with the stock rear differential. You can install a 3.54:1 gearing from Patrick's Truck Parts --> http://www.patricksantiquecars.com/

I did this to my 54 3100 and I can, very comfortably, get 70 to 75 out of it at 2500 RPM instead of 55.

Wheelsmith makes a very original looking rim in both 5 and 6 lug. They even have adapters to allow your original hubcaps. The whole reason I went with them was I wanted disc brakes and the stock ones wouldnt fit over my calipers, which was good because now I have modern radial width tires disc brake ready and original hubcaps. I couldn't argue with the price at $94 each (about 18 months ago) either. I don't think they will help you with the 'narrow tire look'.
