Fellow Stovebolters, What has happened to "ALL STEEL" Fenders There in The Good OL USA?? Just keep running into the fiberglass. Can any of you steer me in the direction of somebody,s garage, barn, salvage yard, where there just may happen to be 4 extra around?? Who ate,em all up?

It sure would be nice to get 2 front and 2 back
over here to Scandinavia. grin Ive been searching for 2 months now. Who knows I,ll most likely be searching longer. My friend told me this once,
SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND grin Ive heard some stories that in Russia there may just be some but.....
who brought them there? LOL!

Hello There Blue Pen! Thanks for the Hint. I followed up on your lead and called that company.
No Luck however, just for your information and for other fellow Stovebolters as well they told me that they could provide us with patch kits for the areas needed to be fixed if a good photo was sent to them. They could then help that way.

By the way I spoke with the Metalman. He could indeed make the fenders however a fiberglass or
steel fender would be needed in order to make them. Checking to purchase old ones and sending them to the metal man for a complete inspection if we find them. Its just an idea. Just praying to find ones somewhere that may not need too much work to fix.

Also Barry Weeks is another gentleman up in Minnesota that I sent e-mail to and waiting for his reply.I guess he,s quite well known amongst these pages. Thanks again for your leads. I,ll let you know what happens on this hunt. wink

Unless you just have to have metal ones, the fiberglass do fine. I have been running 4 of them, on my '46, for about 18 years. Unless you thump them or feel under the bottom, you'll never know they are fiberglass. I looked for metal ones, back when I fixed mine and the few I found, were $450 apiece. Good luck on your search.

It would take about 40 hours to make a model 'A' front fender. post war trucks can take much longer with the head light in the fender. fabricating one can be expensive. I have repaired many fenders by fabricating sectons. A fab'ed fender is made of several sections not all one piece. What some may see as junk could be a savings of many hours by using as much of a original as possable.
If I qoute a price of $1200 for a steel fender most will settle for fiberglass. I understand some of it is better.
PLEASE do not trash original steel fenders on the early trucks no matter how bad they may look

Are the fenders on 1942, thru 1946 the same?
Will they match bolt wise?
Grilles are the same I reckon?
