Hi Friends, My dump truck is becoming a pain to shift when driving and a pain to get in gear when going from a stop. This is after it has gotten hot.

I am talking with dad and he is leaning twards it being something wrong with the slave cyl. If it was the slave cyl, I would think it would be impossible to get in and out of gear all the time. So if you drive it say your in 3 about to shift to 4, mash the clutch and it still is engaged...Then if you gooch the throttle it will break loose and you can rev the motor.... Me being a worst case sort of guy, I am assuming the pressure plate is weak or the clutch plate is doing something to cause it to stick.. What do you think?

Hy Michael1964, have someone watch the throwout arm as you work the clutch pedal just to make sure you are getting full range of movement. Check the clutch master fluid level and top up as required, if the master was empty then a bleeding of the system will be required. I would lean more towards the master being the problem, but I can't tell you how many times in the past I replaced either the master or the slave cylinder only to have the other unit fail in short order, so if I was to do this job today, I would replace/rebuild both components in the system, hope that helps.

Thank you sir. I have replaced the master cyl a few years back and it is always full of fluid.
