Does anyone have any idea what size the shank is that goes through the arm? I have already drilled into it with a 1/2" drill. Apparently the pin shank is bigger than 1/2".
Thanks in advance Walt Williams La Verkin, UT

I was able to get two out that way on my project. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 197 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 197 | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 197 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 197 | Thanks. Your photo is helpful. I am seeking to remove the drag link ball pin from the steering arm that mounts on the front spindle on a 3100. 0.750 diameter. Pretty good sized. I have ordered a 9/16 drill for another application. I will use it to enlarge the hole I have already drilled then bump it with a hammer to see if I can get it to loosen. Its in there pretty good. In many cases this is the secret to success. The hole was countersunk and the ball stud material filled in that area when it was assembled at the factory. This also creates a short tapered area at the top of the arm for the new part to swage into. It's simpler if you can get the piece into a drill press. Jerry

Drive it out with a punch, 1/2 drill is usually as big as you need.
