Were the mirror brackets, mirrors and tail lights painted the same color as the bumper and grill? Were they the semi-gloss black like they come from current vendors? My truck body is between an Alpine blue and Marine blue metalic. (It started life as a OD Green Air Force truck. I didn't think that color would work for me.) Thanks.

Jerry,
Welcome to Stovebolt. The original bracket and small round mirror on my 59 was black which I believe was the standard color. Nice truck you have there.

Thanks guys. This truck is supposed to only have 19K miles on it. I have NC registration slips from 1969 to last year showing a progression from 1100 miles. The story is that the Air Force bought this truck new and it sat until 1969 when they auctioned it off. The buyer painted it blue metalic (it was OD Green). I'm always skeptical of these kinds of stories but this old girl is in awesome shape. No rust or body damage that I've found. I am having to replace rubber because it's gotten hard. I'm replacing delaminated glass. And I've replaced all chrome because of pitting. The bed was replaced when I got it.

You'll see a lot more of me in the coming months. Thanks again.

Jerry

Jerry. Nice Truck! On my '58 they were painted a gloss black. This is the only color I have seen them stock. Hope this helps.
