I bought an OEM tire rack (actually wound up with two of them) but all three studs do not line up with the holes in the spare wheel (8 lug pattern) - only two line up. The third goes through the center hole. Is there a difference between tire racks for 6 lug C10 and 8 lug C20 trucks? Thanks.

Don't see how 6 on 5.5 could possibly fit 8 on 6.5. There is a 1/2 T and a 3/4 T holder.

I see what you mean. What are the 5.5 and 6.5 measurements?

A 6 lug wheel is designed for 6 wheel studs on a 5-1/2" Bolt Circle

A 8 lug wheel is designed for 8 wheel studs on a 6-1/2" Bolt Circle

Should be simple enough to make an adapter.

If you want, you can sell your two 1/2 T for about the price of one 3/4 T (Ebay prices).

Search 60-66 3/4 spare or 60-66 3600 spare or 60-66 c20 spare and all those using individual years I.E. 1960 3/4 spare then 1961, etc.
This one is sold, click on "see original listing" and scroll down if you want to read that it says "3/4 Ton 8 lug bolt". It is listed as 55-66. Found this under "completed listings". I was not searching to buy just searching for you to be sure there are two types.

You really do need to put a wanted in Stovebolt. That's what it's for.

AS HAS BEEN MENTIONED: It would be fairly easy to modify your plate, make a new plate or fab an adaptor plate. Wheel studs are cheap and very, very easy to install. Maybe you have enough room on the plate to locate that third stud after removing the misaligned one. No one will see the mod behind the tire.

Thank you for all your help and information. I will put an ad on Stovebolt. I have considered adapting one of the ones I have as well. I don't think there is enough room on the plate to move the stud but I could make a larger plate as you suggest. My only question about that is if the 3/4 ton rack is any bigger or different in any other way to hold a possibly heavier wheel (I am probably over-thinking the issue).

If you have time and patients, you can sell yours and buy the correct one now that you know there is a difference and see that they are available sometimes on Ebay and hopefully elsewhere. I would have to admit that fabrication, in this case, would be for parts that are not available anywhere. Otherwise having the correct donor part is always preferable. Also no use ruining a good saleable donor part you have.

That is how I see it too. I would rather have the correct part if possible. I will continue my search.
