But I'm not sure just exactly how the U-channel is supposed to be fastened to the door. I know the lower part of the U-channel clips into a U-channel guide. The old U-channel did not have any clips, nor does the new one. (I think like #4x3/8 sheet metal)The door felt channel in the rear of door had a retainer clip that slid in a retangular hole in door channel.Because mine was a one piece window in a metal frame I made a plywood form and preformed the channel before installing. I would go with black weatherstrip glue. It fits fairly tight and I'm sure this would hold I beleive the 55-1st had a 2 peice channel one in wing frame and one for top & rear Zeke
