I talked to a guy this morning who has one he wants to get rid of. I saw a picture of it and it has a chevy grille but only one headlight per fender. He said it had too much bondo in it for him to fool with it. If, no, when I go to look at it is there a model number or any way to tell for sure other than the single headlight. I think it should have a 270 in it but not sure. What do you guys think.Larry

The grill was expanded metal and the dual headlight fender had an adapter to use a single head light. It should have a 270. | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 Extreme Gabster | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 | There is a little info here. | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 Sir Searchalot | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 | They are not extra big sellers, kind of neat, but not worth much without ALL the fleet bits. Needs to have all the items already listed, Different front bumper, all gray interior, plain seat (non-pleated vinyl). Cletis link tells it all. Even though the links say 55-59, I believe they were only made in 58-59. Rare does not always mean valuable. Don't think they have any special serial no. Look for all the "tell tales" to be there mentioned here and in links to be sure. You did not say what year. No one would build a clone on purpose but could have used a front clip/fenders that became available. The Chevy "V" cluster with the GMC logo would be a big clue to me. You said a Chevy grille, that's suspicious. The pics you have would be interesting to us. I have only seen the one headlight on an adaptor plate models (58-59). Only other one is that 1957 Special Civil Defence truck over and over again. It is not a Fleet Option, cheapo, bare bones truck. It's a decked-out Blue Chip Napco. That one contradicts what the link says about a "no hole" hood. Can't find another 55-57 GMC Fleet picture in the universe. | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 362 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 362 | Thanks guys. The owner has expressed an interest in buying my truck. When he gets back from his trip I'll go take a closer look at it. If it has the logo on the dash and the 270 I may make him a trade deal. I kind of like the unusual trucks. Thanks for the feed back. Larry
