doing some engine cleaning and after lots of dirt and oil it appears that the timing cover and the push rod cover were chromed, does anyone know if this would be original for a 54 ?

I have worked on a lot of 235's and have never seen a factory chrome one.

Chrome covers were not listed as original equipment; nor were they listed in accessories.

Similar to a few recent posts about black side-covers and valve covers. My bet is those were replacement covers.
