I blew out the little hose assembly that goes from underneath the oil filter cannister to the block. It has two brass fittings, one on each end. Does anyone know the p/n of that little hose assy ? I looked in the gmc shop manual but it wasn't referrenced there.

Thanks !

Hy Red63, take the old line with the fittings to your local auto parts store and they should be able to fix you up with line and fittings to replace your blown line.

dirty tools,

What is the part number for those JC hoses?

Your link does not go to a specific part in my browsers (one of many problems with JCs website).

Here are Chevrolet hoses - GMC hoses are different. JC used to carry GMC hoses, but I cannot find them now. Chevrolet and GMC hoses are different.

Jim Carter had a batch of the GMC hoses made several years ago and sold out. I would call him. He doesn't update his website very often, but they answer the phone with live people. He may have had enough interest to have another batch made. I was gonna ask him in York, but he didn't have a booth there this year.

Ken,

I didn't know you were at the ATHS show in York...wish I had known, I would have stopped to say hi. Did you take a truck?

Sorry, I can't help with the hose...

My wife and I flew to Harrisburg and stayed at the Hampton on Zion Road. We arrived in Harrisburg Wednesday night and flew back to San Antonio on Sunday. The only person of the Stovebolt group that I saw and recognized was Grigg. I walked by John's GMC and one ton several times, but I didn't see anyone.

Report back what you find out from Jim Carter. I only have 2 of the hose kits left and a whole lot more GMC motors than that. I have some that I just pinched the brass tubing shut and run them without a filter. My 2 tons that I just run around our truck lot with occasionally don't need a filter anyway.

Ken,

You didn't see anyone from the local Stovebolt group because they were all working, parking trucks and directing traffic...sorry we missed you.

I wish I had bought more when Jim Carter made them. When I get time, I think I am going to take one of the old ones apart. It might be possible to crimp an AC hose in place of the old hose.
