does anyone know if there still is a registry of hood numbers specifically from 42-46 4x2 gmc 1.5 tons? i recently acquired one that had been sitting in a field and was wondering if i could find out more about what it might have been originally used for. hood number- 505328

That list (either by manufacturer or by model) is the holy grail of MV collectors and much research has been done to try and locate it, or even where it *might* even be.

Most paperwork kept on vehicle was destroyed when the vehicle was released from government service. The registration number was not not need by the manufacturer so they would not keep it either.

Are you sure you meant 1.5 ton GMC?

I am not familiar with a WW2 1.5 ton 4x2 GMC, can you post an image? Just a SWAG, but that number would most likely make the truck a 1942-43 model.

since i last posted the truck has gotten a new wiring harness although i have found that it also contains a separate harness with a fuse box (period correct), and several leads that go to spots where no new paint was added when it was repainted from olive to red. do you perhaps know what these may have been used for? the first two leads go to round outlines under the hood and are connected to a series of switches under the dash.
