Took it out for a test ride yesterday. Engine rpm increases substantially when the clutch is depressed. Can't determine how engine rpm can be related to clutch pedal being depressed. Engine idles at normal when tranny is in neutral. Panel runs down the road normal when in gear. Any advice appreciated. Jerry

What is the RPM change and is it consistent value. Have you examined your motor mounts? Take a close look here for cracked and broken. Have you examined the clutch and throttle linkage while some one operated the clutch pedal?

I had to leave home to attend a funeral in Texas and will not be back until early next week. Will try to diagnose your questions and respond with info. Thanks, Jerry

Noise is coming from the bell housing area. We think either the crank shaft bushing, the throw out bearing or clutch/pressure plate is binding and causing the idle to be restricted until the clutch is depressed. Nothing is interfering with the throttle linkage.
On a test drive and at speed the transmission performs as normal. Also checked motor and transmission mounts. No apparent movement of the engine when rpm is sharply increased.
So it looks to me like the transmision will have to come out. Once separated from the bell housing, new parts are sure to follow. Record heat, 115 degrees, will shorten my work day. Stay tuned......... Jerry

It will start to drop a few degrees on Saturday. But this evenings sky over here has clouds, hope not a monsoon that will kill my work, heat yes rain no.

Throw out bearing grumbles and is stiff to rotate. . Disk and pressure plate look ok as does the fly wheel facing. Disk needs to be replaced. Ordered clutch disk, pressure plate, throw out bearing and bronze bushing as a complete kit. Hoping that will cure the mysterious rpm changes. Jerry
