I have a 1948 3800 DRW rig. Has anyone tried to fit 17" modern wheels and radials on these trucks? | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Something they're not telling you on that site, the rear wheels are meant for the outside dual only, you use a steel wheel for the inside dual. Dealt with plenty of those over the years.

The factory 18's barely clear. 19.5's will work but are not easy to find with the early 1/2" lug holes and correct diameter center. I had a set of 19.5's but sold them to a member here. I know some have changed to a later rear axle to get better gears and be able to run a 16" wheel and tire. | | |
