My '59 hood is painted and ready for mounting, but I've a question about the hood braces. One of them is bent, and I've seen similar on every Task Force truck I've looked at. I'm assuming the bend is to provide greater clearance for the air cleaner, eh?

Unfortunately, I can't remember which brace goes where, and if the bend should be toward the front or rear. The Factory Assembly Manual doesn't show any bend in either brace.

Anybody help me out here?

My 55.2 3100, the drivers side rod has the bend at the back on the pass side. The two rods appear to be welded together where they cross. Don't know if this was done at the factory or not.
