My body guy's glass guy never came back to install the rear side glass. He took them out, frames and all. the frames had to be rebuilt, by my body guy. Body guy doesn't have time right now to put them in. The glass guy hasn't been paid for any work yet. I'll stop rambling.
Does anyone know how to put in the rear side windows in a 1961 suburban? I assume its the same for 1960 - 1966 Suburbans. I have all the rubbers and felt for the windows. Not sure if I put the glass in the frames first and then install on truck. Or install frame on truck then replace glass.
Any help would be appreciated

Hope it's about the same. Put glass in frame using rubber kit. Install the assembled frame and glass into body with rope trick as a windshield is done. Screw down. Install garnish. If you don't remember how to assemble or did not take pictures, shame, shame. Find a similar truck or see manual. Some later 60-66 burbs had two sliders and two stationary. I would consider all stationary if I were you. No leaks, no dust, no rattle, much easier/cheaper. Don't forget to consider tinted glass. Both, sliding and stationary kits, are available.

I have a 60 Burb and recently had all the windows replaced. After looking at various pictures, I decided to have the 2 back side windows be solid, and keep the middle windows as sliders. They were originally all sliders, but as most, all the bottoms were rusted out. There is no getting around that the sliders are hard to open, but I have 50 year old air-conditioning that ironically still works great! and I figured nobody probably opens the sliders anyway. It's been so long since I've posted pictures of all my progress that I've completely forgotten how to download and post pics in photo bucket, but if you send me your email (if ok with Stovebolt) I'd be happy to send a couple of pics of the finished product and the name and phone number of the man who did it. He might be of help. I've run it through the carwash with no problem, but a little scary first time!
