So the running boards get alot of wear. Are you all using regualr paint, powder coating or? Anyone use bedliner material to get the anti-slip feature? I wanted mine to be body color.

What year truck?

1965, as in your "name" - did it have running boards?

What each of us use would depend on variations both personal and vehicle historical.

While powder coat and bed liners (rhino and line-x) have color ability how close to your color is a consideration. You would not want to much a variation.
But these two methods provide the longest lasting (durable) coating in color.
Regular paints of today are good and provide the direct match to painted color, while easier to touch up then liner or powder coat it is still a bit shy of the durability.

What year truck could be a consideration, if are you keeping stock or doing a mod. If stock you might find matching powder and liner a bit rougher.

Since your interest is body color you need to take a sample to you local powder shop and liner shop to see if they can match.
If they can match then your back to what method do you want.

My truck is a 50. I dont care about originality but it will "look" original with a cream/blue paint combo. Fenders will be cream. I believe the running boards should be too to look best, but am open to thoughts on that too.
