Hey all,

Looking for a new spindle for a 52 3100 but cant seem to find anything "new" available. Any ideas where I could locate such a beast?

Thanks,

Matties

Hy Matties, If you come to my pick a nick this year bring the old one with you and we'll have a look around. There are no new ones being made that I'm aware of, you might luck out and find an N.O.S. one on EBay, hope that helps.

I have bought two NOS ones on eBay in 17 years.

3B,

When and where is it?

EBAY has let me down on this search so far. Cant find much right now for my 52 3100 that looks much better than what we pulled off.

Matties,

Post a Parts Wanted ad in the Swap Meet (19511952-1959, I think). There seems to be many people who remove/change the front-steering parts to change the front suspension/steering.

The main problem with many used spindles/knuckles (as you most likely know) is the journals for the king-pin bushings get "wallowed out". Ask sellers to carefully inspect those journals.

The Hollander lists 51 through 59, Chev and GMC. I would definitely look for a good used and take Tim's asdvice of what to look for. Tim may well have grabbed the only two to hit eBay in the last 17 years and it may be another 20 before another appears.

I hear you. Would love to find "new" but highly unlikely. I guess with many swapping to the MII frontends or comparable, not many people feel that producing a part to maintain a stock truck is profitable. wink Oh well.
