Thanks

Unsure of what your truck is but I believe most suppliers purchase their parts from the same manufacture. Parts fit with a lot of massaging, sweat and swear words. Cut small and work out. Depending on skills a lot of parts for these old trucks can be fabricated. Ray Stanley aka Metalman makes USA made parts as well as Mar-K for bed parts. I haven't used Ray but all remarks are good and about great quality. Mar-k I have used and they are made excellent and the quality and customer support is outstanding. Hope this helps. Have fun and good luck

Ray Stanley aka Metalman makes the best sheet metal parts I have seen. Best fitting with the correct look & thickness...joe

Metalman - Ray Stanley
Wheelwright Restorations - Ray's business (new website design).

Ray is a craftsman and a very nice fellow. If you have never had one-off work done by a craftsman, be prepared for the price tag (worth every penny).

He's the ONLY person I found that could & would make those oddball (they ONLY fit a 1ton Panel) sheet metal panels I needed for my one ton panel/bus & he did it w/out a pattern & w/only pictures & tape measurements I sent him...joe

I can imagine how nice it would be to have a guy who makes custom sheet metal parts to order. This guy seems to be the wizard in that regard. Go with him if you can afford it.

But if you have an AD or newer truck, there are only a few choices despite the number of vendors out there. I just go with whatever Jim Carter sells because I know him, and I know he cares to provide decent aftermarket parts. If I don't like what he sells for any reason (too thin of sheetmetal, wrong profile, etc) I just send it back and get the right one. Bowtie Bits in Wichita, KS does it the same way. If you don't need custom panels, start there.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE... PLEASE STATE THE VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE POSTING!!! wink

I mean that in the nicest way of course. I realize when you are in the moment, you are not thinking about the intricacies. Its just something that is important and everyone needs to step it up a bit.
