The several posts and quick guides I have read talk on taking the two front side mount tabs off and pulling the whole front (balancer, timing cover, pan, cam) to place the front mounted bracket in place. What I see is the 59 used a yoke that sloped forward to mount onto the cross member. The yoke looks to place the mount in the same approximate location as a front mount. So, has any one used this method, is so how did it work and what is needed? If not why not do it that way other then making the 48 look stock for the engine mounting?

I am trying to see if some one used the 59 mount as seen in this picture and how it was to set up. Or used the mounts as I have found installed on my 59 engine and how they work into the cross arm seen in this picture. Both are simple bolt ons to the engine no disassembly required. Thx Ron
