We found that M E Miller Tire has Power King made in China tires in 7.5 x 20 for the front and 8.25 for the rear.

They can get me Cooper tires only in 8.25 x 20. I'd rather have American made tires.

As of right now we can not move the wheels from full right stop to full left stop to check for clearance. When we do check how much clearance will we need to not have the tires rubbing?

Has anyone every tried putting 8.25 x 20 up front on the 2 tons or 1.5 tons?

Had 8.25-20's on the front of my 53 COE (and 9.00-20's on the rear) without a problem. Went to 7.50's all around just cuz I found some good used ones.

8.25 on the steer and 9.00 on the drive was very common as was 7.50 on the steer and 8.25 on the drive. Trucks were not designed to carry load on the steer like modern day trucks. 60 years ago a semi would only have about 8k on the steer. Now we have to have 12k on the steer to axle 80k. Take a look at what it says on the sidewall of a Cooper. They have a factory in China.

I current have one 8.25 on the front right of my 46 2-ton. It will rub. Also makes steering harder. I purchased Power Kings for the rear this winter. Good looking tire, but it is made in China. I, like you, wanted an american made tire. But those Coopers could very well be made in China as well.

Buy the 7.50 for the front. You'll be happier!

I assumed the 8.25 would make steering harder. So I called Cooper direct and they said they don't offer either 20" tire.

Then I called back the tire place M E Miller Tires and went with the 7.5 on the front and 8.25 on the rear, Power King tires.

We also went with the highway tread for the rear because the traction tire's (looks like a mud/snow tire) more aggressive tread looked as they would not ride as quiet and this truck is not going to be out in the snow.

Samson tires are made on China, but they are one of the best Chinese tires on the market.

Thank you for the info but I already bought the tires from M E Miller. They should arrive here on Friday.
