Hello,
I have what I believe is an original 1951 visor, but I'm not too sure. It appears to be the same as the one shown in the 1951 Chevy accessories manual. I took it off a 52 before I sold it, where it was attached directly to the cab. I'd prefer to attach it to the drip rails how it's supposed to be, but I can't find any brackets for it. Are these brackets available anywhere, or are there drawings/dimensions for them, or will it just be a matter of making something that will work. Here are some pictures of the visor.

The visor was meant to be directly to the cab, not the drip rails.

My Fulton visor does not attach to the drip rails, but to the inside of the door jamb.

I don't believe I have a Fulton visor and I think they attach differently. It's my understanding that the Fulton style visors are the ones with the adjustable bracket arms on the side, correct? I think mine is an original Chevrolet visor because it looks just like the one pictured on page 86 of the 1951 Chevy Accessories Installation Manual.

On the next page, and other places I've read, it mentions drilling into the drip rails.

But in any pictures I see with this style visor, there are brackets that attach the visor to the drip rails. I JUST came across this drawing on another forum that has some detail, but am still wondering if there's anything with any more detail/measurements?

Might add that there are no dimensions on thes pages just notes that left and right be the same, I would think that the center bracket and "Y" dimention should be such that you have a even reveal (gap) across the top of cab.
BTW, I have a Fulton 800 thats in pretty good shape, would rather have one like you have, want to trade?

Thanks for the info! I appreciate the offer but I'm not going to part with the visor. Besides the learning experiences, it was the ONLY good thing that came out of owning the 52 and I'm really looking forward to getting it on the 51. It takes some digging but you can find them online. Here is a site that says they have them available. I can't vouch for the site since I've never used it, but it's just one of the sites I found that seems to have a lot of visor options.
