Did Chevy make a long tail 3 speed trans with overdrive? I'm looking to upgrade my 59 3200 long bed.

I don't know what you mean by "long tail" but an SM319 OD was an option in '59. It is the same length as the SM318 3 speed.

The SM319 will be a direct fit into a 3200. I have one in mine. Driveshaft first perfectly, no alterations needed.

I have 2 3 speed trans 1 from a 58 short bed truck and 1 from a 59 long bed truck, the tail on the 1 from the 59 is about 4 inches longer than the 58.

Do you have pics of the transmissions? It sounds like the one from the shortbed truck might be the HD 3 speed option, which is a Borg-Warner T-85.

No pics the 59 is in the truck, the 58 is at my brothers house. I do know the 59 is 22 inches in total length with a 15 inch tail and the 58 is 18 about 18 inches total with 1bout an 11 inch tail.

Without seeing the other transmission, it seems that is probably is the HD. The SM318 standard 3 speed is 22 inches long, as is the SM319 overdrive.
