It's a 3 position switch and the heater runs fine. However I was under the dash and it looks like the rheostat is glowing hot. I know I'm reducing voltage to 6 volts for the heater but not sure this is how it should work. Your new switch may be rated at 15 amps and your 6v motor may be pulling 20 amps or more which would be a fire hazard. The switches with built in rheostat & resisters will get but not glow like that.
