My truck is a '54 3600 with the original 235 engine. I am wondering where you would recommend ordering one. I believe from looking at the truck's documentation the OEM part is Delco 1107108.
I appreciate the help because I start to get confused when I look on-line and see several choices (again, not very mechanically inclined).

They can bench test and tell you if and what your problem may be. They can also rebuild your starter (and generator if needed) for a lot less than buying a new one.

I believe Napa will ship or deliver! if you are not too far.
