Just about to finish up my first door. A few questions.

1. The window channel kit included "side window rubber bumpers" marked with Jim Carter p/n W1230. Where do they go?

2. Does some sort of windlace or weather seal attach under the inside door skin and window trim?

3. Attached to the front and rear sides of the door frame are 2 horizontal braces. When I originally disassembled the door, there were some rubber pieces between these braces and the outer skin. Is there supposed to be something there? If so, what are others using for this?

Bob, I'll give this one a shot.

1. Not sure about the rubber bumpers, they might go inside the door where the window comes to rest in the down position.

2. There is no windlace or anything attached to the doors. The windlace goes around the door frame and there is a rubber seal along the lower part of the door opening.

3. Those pieces of rubber are to prevent the door skin from rattling against the horizontal braces. I covered the entire inside of my doors with sound deadening material so I didn't use them.

Hope this helps

THanks,

That did help - confirms what I had suspected.
